We have a large island in our kitchen (12 ft long and 5 feet wide) with a black walnut top. The top was damaged with some chemicals when we were cleaning the oven...:( I could not find anyone who could come to our house as most re-finishers want you to bring the item to them.....Which was impossible due to the size of island.  I sent photos of the damage and the island and they provided an estimate (which was 1/3 of another estimate I received). 
They scheduled it and the technician came to our home - covered the surrounding area in plastic to avoid dust and refinished the entire island top in about 5 hours. 
She was very pleasant and knowledgeable! I would HIGHLY recommend and would give them 6 stars if they were available! It looks better than it did when it was brand new!
